We’re delighted to have worked with Nyree at her clinic in Broadford, Australia for the installation of their newly designated feline-only ward.
As Central Highlands Veterinary Group move towards a Fear Free future it was important to them that they acquired new equipment, which was not only going to last, but was going to reduce the distress of some of their most vulnerable patients.
The Broadford clinics previous cat housing was a cold, dark and noisy set of stainless steel cages. They were far from practical with all the largest cages on ground level and the upper cages were barely big enough to fit a litter tray and cat, let alone food and water. The kennels also rattled from the movement of patients and didn’t make cats feel very secure, which is why they felt purchasing a CASCO Cat Silver Stack was a must for their feline patients!
Cats are already one of the most popular pets in Australia, but the ones that are least often brought to the vet. Cats can also suffer from life threatening urinary disease of which the most common cause is often linked to stress.
Now that we are using the CASCO Silver Cat Stack we love it so much! It is light, open and airy. The unit is super quiet even with the lights and heated floors turned on. The door latches are very secure and our patients have been much more relaxed in the cat stack and the heated floors are a particular hit!Nyree
What drew us to the CASCO Silver Cat Stack was the Cat Friendly Clinic certification, the amount of room our patients had to move, how quiet the unit is and how easy it is to monitor our patients through the glass doors. We also loved the in-floor heating as having heat mats in the kennel with the patient can be a safety issue.
The unit is so easy to disinfect and the storage at the base of the unit means all our essentials are neatly stored away within easy reach.
Patients are easy to access for treatments and two staff members to fit in side by side.
Each kennel has its own ventilation and the removable dividers mean we can house 6 cats if needed on short notice. Each pod has its own light and heat pad! The unit is incredibly easy to disinfect after use with all surfaces easy to access and wipe down.
As has been the way during COVID times shipping and installation was a challenge! The team at CASCO were super helpful and supportive. They maintained regular contact while we waited for the Sydney then Melbourne lockdown to end, problem solved for delivery and their friendly and professional installation team installed the unit with no disruption to clinic operations. They also cleaned up after installation and left the cat ward spotless!Nyree
The difference in our patients’ demeanours between our old housing and the CASCO Silver Stack is incredible. Even our clinic cat is comfortable to come and go if a door is left open! David and Corinna were a dream to deal with and the installation went extremely smoothly.
